Planted Seven million trees


Costa Rica will carry out the planting program 7 million trees during 2008. According to the Minister For The Environment and Energy of Roberto Dobles, this program aimed at absorbing gas of greenhouse emissions and to make Costa Rica the country penetral first carbon in the world. This was the follow-up to the program that was carried out by his country during 2007 that is planting 5 million trees to prevent environmental damage.
This program will be preceeded with the stopping of the felling of the forest and the procurement of the project 'planted one tree'.

The government learned from the experience has time to learn from the mistakes of other countries. It can be argued that some controlled logging could be permitted.  One plan in the country Costa Rica called for selective logging of tagged trees only, with fallow periods of 40 years thereafter.  Of course, any such plan is only as good as its oversight. If logging is to be permitted, under controlled circumstances, is there an open bid process for logging concessions so that realistic revenues are obtained ?

Unsyiah Rector: “Keep on Community Development based on Nursery in Aceh”


The visit by the rector of Unsyiah fanned the enthusiasm of the members of the Ingin Sejahtera Farmers Group, a proof that they were doing the right thing to improve their lives. Darni Daud, the rector of Syah Kuala University (Unsyiah), Banda Aceh, could not hide his admiration during his visit to the community-based nursery run by 20 members of the Ingin Sejahtera Farmers Group in Jruek Balee Village, Aceh Besar Regency, Aceh, last February.
During his visit he observed, around 70,000 seedlings of fruit and other trees classified as hard plants set out in neat, orderly rows on one square hectare of land. Darni appeared to be very impressed that the efforts to nurture the seedlings were being made by local farmers under the guidance of the ESP. It was almost as if he could hardly believe that they were capable of developing an organic agriculture training center that provides easily practiced and applied technical training on how to propagate and nuture top yielding plants.
Darni was visiting Jruek because lecturers and students from Unsyiah’s School of Agriculture, who had visited the field school, had frequently told him of the wide variety of agricultural skills and techniques being taught there, ranging from composting to plant propagation and the development of non-chemical, natural pesticides.
”Keep up these efforts because such activities are so rare in Aceh. I fully support what you are doing, and we will link all this up to similar activities taking place on at our campus.”
That day, Darni also visited a number of other ESP activity locations in Aceh, including the Jruek community that is host to the Krueng Aceh river conservation efforts in cooperation with the Kuta Gunong Forum (FKG). This people of this community have established sentang orchards and put up signs forbidding the use of explosives, poison, or electrical shock for catching fish in order to prevent pollution and to protect the fish species in the river.
During the visit, Darni, as a contribution from Unsyiah for the Ingin Sejahtera seedling nursery, purchased Rp. 30 million worth of various seedlings, including mahogany, betel nut and durian.
”I am going to tell the governor that this community based nursery is a regional asset with the potential to improve the welfare of the people,” Darni said.
This seedling nursery created by the Ingin Sejahtera farmers has been in development for one-and-a-half years and is now earning the 20 founding farmers and their families around Rp 1 million per month. (Faisal Rusli & Sari Wattimena, NAD ESP)

Because, they cut trees in the forest for food, fuel, and log. They think that they will release 20 billion ton of steam every day and absorbed carbon in large quantities has been enough for continuation the nature, he explained.
It is must be found the method to confirm that who lived in the tropical rainforest received the appreciation for the environmental service. The problem is the tropical rainforest became the residence of around 1.4 billion poor people in the world. To survive, they must produce something, that tended to damage the forest, complained Charles. He mentioned Brazil and Indonesia must immediately do something to overcome that problem. Charles had big attention to the environmental, called to the big industry and consumer to stop logging in the tropical rainforest.
